Walt Disney World's Blizzard Beach Water Park Is Celebrating It's 30th Anniversary This Year.

It may only be February, and some places in the United States are still getting snow and freezing temperatures. But I would be lying if I didn't say I’m already dreaming of warm weather and swimming! Funny enough, the place I'm longing to visit right now is Blizzard Beach – a water park at Walt Disney World themed like a ski resort that looks and feels like a snowstorm just blew through.

Thankfully, Disney has just released some exciting news to keep us hopeful for all the summer fun to come.

Blizzard Beach Turns 30!

This year, Blizzard Beach is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in April. The park originally opened on April 1, 1995, making it Walt Disney World's third water park, following River Country (which is no longer open) and Typhoon Lagoon.

To mark the milestone, Disney has big plans for a month-long celebration starting April 1st, 2025! Get ready for an action-packed party at Blizzard Beach, including:

• A high-energy DJ at the Polar Pub for some fun dancing with Mickey and Minnie

• Snowman bowling

• Games with prizes

• Character-themed tubes to float along the lazy river

• Special anniversary-themed food and beverages

When Does the Party End?

The 30th Anniversary celebration will run through April 30th, 2025. The water park is also set to close on May 1st, 2025 for refurbishment.

Typhoon Lagoon Reopening Soon

In addition to the Blizzard Beach news, there’s another water park update to look forward to. Walt Disney World also announced that Typhoon Lagoon will be reopening on May 1st, 2025 after its temporary closure for refurbishment on November 4th, 2024. With its tropical vibe and classic water park attractions, Typhoon Lagoon is the perfect place to soak up the sun once summer arrives.
